ABOUTEleanor Marshman is a multidisciplinary artist whose discipline encompasses a broad range of mediums including illustration, printmaking and textile design. Drawing is a fundamental preoccupation within the artist's creative practice, one which very much underpins the foundation of her work. The application of drawings in particular are an ongoing area of exploration, furthered through employment of techniques such as screen-printing and etching, as well as the utilization of materials within a fashion and textiles context.
With a meticulous eye for detail and composition, Marshman finds something greatly spiritual within the act of drawing itself, the labour-intensive endowment of craft providing scope for personal acts of self-meditation. This makes drawing more than just a technical device within her practice, but a playground for reflection, within which she is subsequently able to develop her critical thinking and awareness. |
